Fantasy Sports - Deadhead Express
That's me. Deadhead Express. A Fantasy Force within my own small little world. Ha ha.
In an effort to build some content and get a sense for how things will start to look I am going to post my fantasy pool weekly updates/recaps. Currently I am the commissioner of two fantasy leagues 08/09 NFL on and 08/09 NHL. I run both of these leagues on Yahoo and there is quite a bit of overlap of fantasy players made up of good friends of mine. I find it's a good way to keep in touch when you're spread out. This is probably an area I will post on more and more although I will have to be savvy and not reveal too much here, least some of my opponents start to become regulars here @ mrjackstraw.
Without further ado...
Week 8/9 recap/preview for THE LION'S DEN
Well as we enter week 9 of The Lion's Den Fantasy Football Season things are starting to take shape and battles are raging at both ends of the standings.
Last week saw ICYuNVme take down table leader The Crush 76-61, Kootenay Krushers lay the beatdown on the Timberlea Terror 71-41, lazydayz gain his first back-to-back vs Klassy Kanucks winning 70-52, GB Packers taking the ARGO Bowl over the NJ Generals 62-48 while facing each other right after the blockbuster Tomlinson/Westbrook trade that rocked the league and Deadhead X coasting to victory vs the free-falling Pantz of Peter 106-35.
The marquee match-up of the weekend pits GM Chris Petitpas' Crush (6-2) vs Mike Mitchell's Kootenay Krushers (5-3). Depending on how things shake out we could see a real stretching of the table or things could really tighten up from top to bottom.
Chris Daisley's lazydayz (2-6) rescently broke his winless streak (which is more than I can say for the Lions) and now has a two game run going although he's in tough this week against Kevin's powerhouse, The Green Bay Packers (6-2).
The top 8 get into the playoffs so with a three way tie at the bottom and the elder Brown's Kanucks (4-4) lack of points, things are going to get interesting putting even more emphasis on his match-up this week against his equal in the standings the Timberlea Terror (4-4).
After this weekend's match-ups all teams will have played against one another at least one time. Next weekend will bring first week rematches and either Deadhead Express (Brown) (4-3-1) or IcYuNVme (Matty Matty Vince y'all) (4-3-1) will get that sour taste of a tie out of our mouths.
Remember the trade deadline is approaching in two weeks and the playoffs start in Week 14. We've already had some nice trades this year that have worked out nicely for both parties.
Hope you guys enjoyed this. I will try to do a weekly recap/preview every Tue/Wed.
Good luck this week!
