Last week saw a new power rise to the top of the standings when Kevin's Green Bay Packers (7-2) snuck by Daisley's surging lazydayz (2-7) who, based on total points and the immenent return of Tony Romo is highly under rated at his current record.
The game of the week featured Mike Mitchell's Krushers (6-3) getting by Petitpas' Crush (6-3) with the final score 70-57. Both teams have been solid all year and for now look headed for the playoffs. (Be sure to check out Chris' message dated 11/4 on the league homepage.)
A middle of the table battle saw Kenny Brown's Klassy Kanucks (4-5) put up his highest point total in a while, but it was not quite enough to upend Kris G's Timberlea Terror (5-4) who won by a score of 70-63.
Other matches included Matty Matty Vince Y'all's IcYuNVme (5-3-1) beat up on league doormat Peter Pantz (2-7) 75-35. Peter Pantz has now lost 5 in a row, but just completed a trade with Matty to try to make a run for the final playoff spot. Peter received Kurt Warner and sent Marion Barber the other way. Hopefully a deal that works out both ways. Deadhead Express (5-3-1) just got by Andre's NJ Generals (2-7) and survived what was always going to be a tough week with Drew Brees on a bye. The Genrals had completed a trade for Tomlinson, had to wait a week due to a bye as well. (This writer was not too upset :)
Week 10 starts with what always seems like a rivalry game no matter where they are in the standings or what league they happen to be in: Deadhead X vs IcYuNVme. All the games this week are rematches of week 1 where these two teams played to an unlikely draw. Both are coming off 2 wins in a row.
Peter Pantz has his work cut out against the Krushers, but is out to an early 10-0 lead after Thursday's game. It's probably getting down to must win time although the Krushers will be looking to solidify a top playoff seeding. What makes this game even more important is the fact that lazydayz is up against the NJ Generals in what is our Game of the Week (GOTW) meaning one of them will be 3-7 going into next week.
Klassy Kanuck are in an early hole to The Crush who had some nice performances in by his players in the Cle/Den game on Thursday. Both teams are trying to halt losing streaks.
Timberlea Terror has started off well and is leading the Green Bay Packers 25-0 going into Sunday's games. I'm sure the league wouldn't mind seeing the leaders fall back to the pack, but it will be tough with the team Kevin has assembled.
Don't forget that we have Thursday games to begin each week from here on out so adjust your line-ups accordingly. Changes can still be made after the Thursday games but not to the players and slots you may have already used.
Trades must be finalized by this Friday Nov 14.
Good luck all!
Congrats to the United States! Nice job. About fucking time.
