Another Year Wiser?

Well yesterday I celebrated another year spinning around on this interesting little orb flying through space. Pretty insignificant when you think about the vastness and the eons and eons that we (humans) have determined have occurred since the beginning. I won't let that get me down though. I am determined to plod through and make my mark in some way.

The family came up to Toronto for the weekend and my Girlfriend put was a genius hostess (as always). We went for dinner on Saturday night to Vesuvio's, serving Italian food and some of the best pizzas around. They've been in business for 50 years so I think that speaks for itself. I had the Veal Parmigiana with grilled veggies and roasted potatoes. Nothing like a good baby cow, you know what I'm saying?

We came home afterward and got into some booze, played some games, ate cake and snacks before finally crashing at around 130am. I got spoiled with gifts, some really cool stuff including a new Red Wings cap (just in time for their playoff run), a book: Road to Hockeytown - Jimmy Devellano's Forty Years in the NHL, 6 rounds of golf, a beautiful cycling jacket from MEC along with some new bike lights, cash for a bike helmet and a ticket to the final Tragically Hip show at Massey Hall.

On Sunday we went to our favorite greasy spoon over on Roncesvalles called Aris. If you are ever in Toronto and have an inkling for peameal bacon, this is where you want to go. $5.95 will get you 3 eggs, homefries, tomato, toast, and three huge slabs of peameal bacon. Untouchable. Plus everything else on the menu is amazing. You just can't go wrong.

We left Aris and headed downtown to the Hanger (Air Canada Centre). The old man had got us Raptor tickets for Christmas. They played the Chicago Bulls and were dominating most of the game before allowing the Bulls to force an overtime. The Raps pulled it out however and the crowd left happy as the Raptors ran their winning streak up to four games which unfortunately is their longest streak of the year. They also scored over 100 points so the crowd gets free Pizza Pizza pizza today with their ticket stub. I think that's when the crowd cheers the loudest. When they hit that 100 point mark.

Well I gotta go watch The View. Bill O'Rielly is on it and while he is interesting I have no time for his politics. The musical guest however, is The Dead and I have all the time in the world for those boys. Just three and a half week until Albany, Worcester....
