Detroit, MI > NCAA > Das Hips

I should do something. Commit to the cause. Make it a better place. Detroit is a city close to my heart. Even though I have never lived there I know it and I feel its pain. Can I do anything? Can anyone? Is it better to somehow put it out of it's misery or can a renaissance happen? Can a collective do it? What would it take to initiate a growth of downtown population that was community oriented, employed and progressive? Who is best suited to undertake this task? I think I know. It's the hippies and the artists. I'm going to put together my thoughts on this. The whys and hows. At some point I may have to participate. I think I have something to offer. It's an honorable cause that will have both big struggles and big rewards.

Here's an ESPN video that submits a similar starting point as I see it. There needs to be a call to arms.

I'm taking Michigan St with the points. Enjoy the game and enjoy Detroit!

The Detroit Tigers kick off their season here in Toronto vs the Blue Jays. I have high hopes and low expectations for both teams this season. Unfortunately this game conflicts with some previously made plans to go and see The Tragically Hip's live and interactive session from their Bathouse studio down at the old Cineplex. They will be doing a Q&A along with performing some or all of their new album, We Are the Same. The album is due to be release across Canada and the US tomorrow (April 7th), but it's being handed out free with all tickets to tonight's event. I'll be baked with a cup of Tim's. Should be cool.
